This place is an absolute gem. Perfectly situated with stunning water views. The food—simply unforgettable. Every single dish we ordered was prepared to perfection. The standout for me? Hands down, the crab cake. It's honestly the best I’ve ever had—moist, flavorful, and seared just right. Pure heaven on a plate. And let’s talk about the most popular item on the menu, the Yucatán Shrimp. It’s not just a dish, it’s an experience. If you skip it, you’re seriously missing out! To top it all off, they’re serving up well-crafted cocktails for just $10—yes, really. Where else can you find that kind of value these days? Whether you're a local or just passing through, this spot deserves a detour. Do yourself a favor and check it out. I’m already counting down the days until I can return.

Excellent, EXCELLENT! Food was delicious, Absolutely the BEST CALAMARI.. the fried shrimp and shrimp salad were exceptional. Our bartenders Gabe and Ellie were fun, knowledgeable and just made our experience even better! We will be back

I had one night in Fort Myers, and a friend said I should definitely go to Doc Ford's. They were right! I was solo, so I sat at the bar, where the bartender gave attentive, friendly service without being overbearing. My friend had raved about the Yucatan Shrimp, so I got half a pound of those and a cup of the clam chowder. Both were good, and I was impressed with the large chunks of clam in the chowder, but the shrimp were out of this world! They're peel-and-eat, so a little messy, but worth it. I used the bread to get every last drop of the sauce, and even dipped the crackers from my soup in it! Delicious. I was also impressed with the size of the portion. I was expecting around 6 shrimp or so, but thee bowl was full, and probably had closer to 12.

The server was a little late getting to us. He admitted there was a messs up. Awesome place. Seating choices are great. Menu awesome. We started with crab cakes. I had their Yucatan Oysters and Yucatan Shrimp. Their sauce in the Yucatan Shrimp was killer! No wonder you get bread with it. They were delicious. I also had their special Bloody Mary, just because. The spices in this were "slap yo mama' good. And 2 more shrimp! Better half had Alaskan Fish Fingers and fries. Also delicious. Servings were awesome. Service was great. View was fantastic. And a good live band was playing. Will we be back? Oh yes!

We highly recommend Doc Ford’s in Ft Myers Beach, Florida. We sat outside by the water next to a heater. Our server, Austin, was outstanding. He recommended the macadamia nut crusted grouper which was delicious. We had crab cakes, peel n eat shrimp and a hamburger. With the crab cakes, we had jicama slaw was excellent. We never had jicama slaw before and were glad we tried it. Thank you Austin for making our experience memorable. We certainly will go back to Fox Fords!

Nice experience dining solo for lunch at Doc Ford’s after a quick Google search showed great reviews. I had the 1/2 dozen Gulf oysters on the half shell, which were very tasty. My Sanibel Spinach Salad was fresh, tasty, and well prepared. I added grilled shrimp and avocado to it, which complemented it well. I dined in the downstairs outdoor portion of the restaurant. Atmosphere is relaxed with stunning views over the water, and you can have a walk out onto the dock (or boat in directly). Service is friendly and relaxed, my server made sure I had everything I needed. Overall, I had a lovely lunch at Doc Ford’s and I’d recommend it.

Absolutely loved Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille on Fort Myers Beach! Stopped in after a pirate ship cruise, and it was the perfect vibe – lively, tropical, and right on the water with that island feel. The Seared Tuna was a great starter. The Orange Ginger Shrimp was excellent, with big, perfectly cooked shrimp in a spicy sweet glaze. The Shrimp and Grits were pure comfort food. Drinks were spot-on and reasonable for FMB. Service was friendly and fast even though the place was hopping. Already planning our next visit. 5 stars all day!
